After trying other graphic systems unsuccessfully, Pershing County of Nevada has selected the ChyTV HD-150, by DigIt Signage Technologies, as their in-house graphic system for Channel 14, K14KQ on their local cable network.
K14KQ is an FCC-licensed Public Broadcasting Station, owned by the Pershing County School District and operated by high school students since 2001.
Jim Altemose, Director of Engineering for the ChyTV products, says, “The ChyTV HD-150 is cost effective and flexible enough to meet Pershing’s requirements. They need to cycle through a scheduled sequence of events and announcements as well as show current local weather. On top of that, they want to include a live camera feed from a roof-mounted weather station. The weather and camera feed come from a WeatherBug system from Earth Networks.”
“With the ChyTV HD-150, we are able to squeeze the live video into a window that can be customized from page to page. In addition, we have programming interface that allows us to import and display data from a variety of external sources. In this case, it’s Pershing’s WeatherBug portal.”
